Young Leaders are Explorer Scouts who volunteer alongside adult leaders at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. They play a valuable role to the section, bring new ideas to the table and act as positive role models for the young people they work alongside.
The Young Leader Scheme provides training to assist a Young Leader in their role. If all 11 modules and 4 missions are completed then the Young Leader will be awarded a belt and buckle.
Volunteering as a young leader also provides young people with an excellent way of completing the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Chief Scout Platinum and Diamond Award, as well as the Queen Scout Award!
